Signing in
Your welcome email
When the course's creator gives you a course, we send you an email. If you're new here, it has a link to set your password.
That first link works once and lasts 7 days. If you already have a password, the email has a plain sign-in link instead.
Setting your password
- Open the link in the email.
- Choose a password of at least 12 characters, and type it again to confirm it.
- Press Set password.
- You're taken to the sign-in page. Sign in with your email and new password.
Opening the link doesn't sign you in by itself. You always sign in after you set your password.
Setting a new password this way signs you out anywhere else you were signed in.
Forgot your password?
- Go to Forgot your password?. (It's also a link on the sign-in page.)
- Enter your email and press Send link.
- Check your email. It may take a minute.
A reset link works once and lasts 1 hour. If you never set a password, the new link lasts 7 days, like the first one.
For your privacy, the page says the same thing for every address. If no email arrives, check your spam folder, and make sure you typed the email you used for your course.
If you already have a password, the link offers two choices: Sign in with my current password or set a new one.
The link expired or was already used
Each link works only once, and asking for a new link cancels the old one. If a link is too old or already used, the page says This link has expired. Press Send me a new link and use the newest email.
Signing in on the course's own site
Some creators run courses on their own website. Signing in there is separate from signing in anywhere else. If you take courses on more than one site, you may need to sign in on each one. Your email and password are the same everywhere.
The links in your course emails take you to the right site.
You may also need to sign in again after you close your browser.
Too many tries
After too many sign-in attempts in a short time, you'll see Too many attempts, try again shortly. Wait a few minutes, then try again.
